Vintage Finds

Yesterday I went on an op-shopping adventure with my lovely friend Natalie and I am happy to say that it was a very successful trip! I am very happy with all of my vintage finds, however most of them needed adjusting or fixing in some way. So today I spent the day fixing up and altering some of my finds with the help of the wonderful Minxy Vintage book! Above are some pictures of my vintage finds before I got to work removing stains and fixing bits and pieces. It was a pretty productive day and now I have a whole pile of freshly customised vintage pieces to add to my wardrobe!

Well November is here already... meaning that I am officially on uni holidays! Sorry for the lack of blog posts last month. For me, October was spent finishing assignments and other uni bits and pieces... But now that that is done I am looking forward to getting back into blogging and sharing a few different things that I have been working on with you. Element Eden: Hi Summer 12

Element Eden have recently released their latest lookbook Hi Summer 12 and I am in love! I can't get enough of the pretty pastel colours, the lovely retro styled photos and that amazing pink hair! It feels as though the style for summer this year has been designed just for me! Every single lookbook that has been released so far this season makes my heart sing! 

In other news, I had my very last class for the semester today and I only have to finish one more assignment and then I'm free! I am super excited to finish this semester. I really can't wait to be able to spend full whole days sewing some pretty summer dresses! I'll be taking some inspiration from these pretty pics for sure!

This time last year I was on the lookout for vintage pleated skirts every time I entered an op-shop and it's not often that after a whole year I am still looking out for the same thing! I just adore pleated dresses and skirts... they are just so feminine and lovely! I did manage to find a pretty mint green pleated skirt last year but now that summer is coming I'm definitely on the lookout for more!  

September Snaps

Wow... October is here already! There's only three months of the year left and I am definitely starting to feel summer in the air these days! This morning I went on a really long walk and I feel as though I may have even gotten a little bit sunburnt! Even though I love the cold, I am really looking forward to having some warmer weather! Here are a few snap shots that I took on my instagram during September. It was a good month filled with a lot of fun with friends, a taste of what summer will be I hope!

Right now my life is all about uni and assignments due to the fact that there is only 4 weeks of uni left to go. I can't believe how fast this year has gone by and that I am nearly on uni holidays again already! I have not really loved becoming a teacher and in the last couple of weeks I have actually decided to stop studying teaching at the end of this year and am thinking of changing my degree to interior design instead. It is really exciting to think that there is only 4 more weeks left, of what is a misery for me, and then I will be able to get on with doing something that I am actually interested in. 

Pretty Mail

Today I discovered a new favourite thing... pretty mail! The lovely Rin from Papered Thoughts got into contact with me a week or so ago asking if she could write me a lovely letter. I was all for the idea and have been waiting excitedly for it to arrive! I never knew so much prettiness could be put into one envelope... I am so amazed at Rins letter writing skills and I'm really excited to start writing a lovely letter in reply for her. I'm so inspired by Rin and her pretty mail that I have decided to take part in a letter exchange that is being held for the remainder of the year! So excited!  

The Horse

My all time favourite shoe label The Horse recently released their Spring/Summer collection for 2012! The shots from their new collection are so dreamy and make me so excited for summer! I am lucky enough to own a pair of these shoes and I cannot wait to wear them all summer long! 

Morning Tea

While I was at Salamanca Market in Hobart on the weekend I bought some pretty treats from Macarons by Ruby. There were so many different flavours to choose from, but in the end I decided on strawberry, sticky date and pistachio. On Sunday morning I treated myself to one or two for morning tea and couldn't waste the opportunity to take some pictures of the lovely little things! How I wish I could make a perfect macaron!

A few weeks ago a friend ask me how I would style my future house. I instantly started thinking of retro furniture, pretty wallpaper, pastel colours and lovely little trinkets. There is something so wonderful and inviting about vintage interiors and it is a feel I definitely would like my house to have one day. I found these pictures through pinterest. I hope you enjoy them! 

Hobart + Alpine

Hobart this weekend was spectacular! Definitely one of the best weekends I have had in a while. On Friday night we went and watched the band Alpine and they were amazing! Totally blew my mind! If you haven't heard any of their stuff yet then you should have a listen to them. The following day was a typical gorgeous Hobart day... we went to Salamanca Market, did a little shopping in Hobart city, visited the pretty new T2 shop, had fish and chips from Flippers and went for a drive up Mount Wellington. A great weekend all round.  

Weekend Delights

This weekend I am planning to go to Hobart with a few friends to go and watch the band Alpine! I haven't been to Hobart in a long time so I am pretty excited! The band plays later tonight so we have decided to stay the night at a bed and breakfast and then spend tomorrow going to Salamanca Market and having lunch and doing a bit of shopping! It is going to be a good weekend!   

Floral Kitty

Floral Kitty is a lovely new boutique that has recently opened up in the lovely city of Launceston and I am so excited to go and take a look at it! It is full of vintage inspired clothing and accessories that are going to be just perfect for summer! I found these dreamy pictures via the Floral Kitty Facebook page and they are currently working on setting up a website to be able to sell their lovely goods on-line, which means that even if you don't live in Launceston you wont miss out! It's so good to finally see Launceston getting so many amazing new shops!
