A Dreamy Party

It is a very gloomy, rainy day here in Launceston today, and even though I love the rain I still always need a little something to brighten up my day! These amazing photos by Ashley Oostdyck certainly do the trick! I find everything about these photos perfect - the slight vintage look and the sort of mis-matched element of these photos is so lovely! Ashley is now definitely on the top of the list if I am ever needing a photographer!

Lovely Red Roses

Today I was very spoilt by my lovely boyfriend Matt, when he came over to my place after he had finished work with a pretty bunch of roses in his hand! I just adore roses, and I love how fresh flowers can make space feel so bright and beautiful! Of course I had to take some pictures and share them here. Today I also joined the latest big thing, Vine and created a post featuring these flowers that you can view here. xx

Finding the Beauty

A couple of days ago, my boyfriend Matt got a new job as a barista at a really cute cafe called Velocci and this morning I decided to go visit him at work and see how he was settling in (and have one of his yummy coffees!) On the way I decided to take a few photos... One of my resolutions this year is to make more of an effort to find the beauty in things and to start appreciating the loveliness that is around me. Launceston is such a pretty place and here is a glimpse of the prettiness along just one street! I'm sure having this new attitude will help me to be more creative and may even inspire me to get into photography a little more too! xx

A few favourites...

Today I thought I would share a few blogs that I have really enjoyed looking through lately. Some I have been reading for a while and others I have discovered quite recently. I hope you discover a few new ones for yourself in this list! xx

Happy New Year!

Here is my very first post for the year and my first post in a very long time! I decided I needed a break from this blog and even sewing, just for a while, so I could recharge my batteries. It has certainly done the trick, though, as I am now bursting to get back into some sewing and have a whole list of new projects and ideas to get started on! My Etsy shop is empty for now, but I hope to start filling it up again soon!

While I was gone, here are just a few things I got up to....

Started using my new Frankie Diary and have fallen completely in love with it!

Prettied up my sewing space - another reason why I am now so motivated to get back into sewing, nothing beats a clean, inspiring space.

Read, relaxed and tried to keep cool as much as possible.

Had fun experimenting with vintage fabrics to make packages look pretty!

And lastly, found the most amazing, perfect picnic blanket ever - an old retro blanket from the Red Cross.

So I hope to start posting here a little more regularly from now on, as I really do enjoy this little blog! Wishing you all a happy new year! I hope 2013 is your best one yet! xx
