Pretty Party Bunting

As I mentioned last post, I'm planning to have a tea party to celebrate my 20th birthday. So far I have collected some pretty floral vintage tea cups, plates and a tea pot as well as lots of other random goods such as doilies and table cloths to use. I also found an amazing vintage canister thing that I am pretty sure is my most favourite thing I have ever found while op-shopping... it is just so cute! I will definitely need to share it here sometime! Anyway, in order to match all of the floral goodness I decided to make some floral bunting flags to use for decoration.

I used mainly vintage fabrics (because lets face it vintage fabric is the best!) and added a few doily flags to give it a little something extra.

Pretty scraps.

So yes... I'm very happy with how it turned out and I don't think I'll ever get over how pretty vintage fabric is! I've made quite a lot of bunting over the past couple of years and it's nice to finally make some for myself to keep and use for my own special occasions.

Ruche Fabrics

The other day I went to town with some friends and discovered something very exciting! A lovely new fabric shop on George street called Ruche Fabrics! This is a huge deal because for ages there has only ever been one fabric shop to go to in Launceston and for some reason (probably because it's a huge chaotic mess or because you have to stand around waiting forever to be served) the thought of going there makes me feel ill. Ruche Fabrics is a beautiful shop and it has such a relaxed feel to it. They sell the most gorgeous fabrics and bits and bobs, as well as the cutest Japanese pattern books! I'm so excited to try out some of their beautiful fabrics out soon!
